k
just ordered a dual sump pan from ford for my 5.8 in a kit, with the stud, pickup tube, dipstick and pan.
everything was going well untill I went to put the pan on the block and on the right side, the pan will not make contact with the block by about 1/4 inch.
I pulled the pan off and there are scrapes inside the pan from the oil pump.
anyone else had this problem? and is there a way around it?
Chris, did you install a high volume oil pump? When I did so, I had to use a body hammer to dent out the area of the oil pan that came into contact with the 4 bolts on the bottom of the oil pump.
