ok guys i have an 87 bronco with a F.I. 302. it has the mustang stule fuel injection with the throttle body off to the side.
I have been having problems wiht it, under normal acceleration it chatters and fels like it is misfiring. at first it was every once in a while and only under medium throttle but it is doing it more and more often at all rpm now.
the truck is getting between 5-7mpg if i baby it, and i think it should be getting around 10 if that helps.
it has a new cap rotor wires/plugs. a new ignition module, and a new IAC. i am getting no check engine light and no codes.
it starts every time and idles fine so i dont even knwo how i would begin to diagnose this problem. do any of you guys have any ideas?
I beleive there is a post that covers testing your Oxygen sensor. Someone said once that they may not trigger the chack engine light. My 88 Mustang was acting similar and just on a whim I decided to put in a new o2 sensor, problem solved. Any way it's a starting point. Also Try checking your ground connections.
Good luck
ok i forgot to say, i dont think it is related but it has a very erratic idle. it jumps from 1000-1500 in neutral and from 900-1300 in gear. sometimes it will go as high as 2000
