Alrighty, I'll see what I can do in helping you out... First off, if you have the tach handy, tell me how many wires there are, their color(s), and check the manual that came with the tach to see what each of them are for. Once that is posted, I'll walk you through the rest.
Well doggone... Then you're down to the easy part!
I have been told that it's the gray wire coming off of the left-hand side of the coil. I haven't looked for mine yet, but you should be able to find it. If you don't know where the coil is, find the distributor on the engine. Look for the plug wire in the center of the distributor cap. Follow that wire and at the end of it should be the coil. Then, you can look for that gray wire coming off of the left-hand side of it.
Good luck! Let me know how it all turns out for ya.
A little late but FYI the factory instument cluster w/Tach is a direct replacement for the ones w/o the tach. No wiring mods or changes are nescessary.
Thanks for the tip, SuperHighOutput! I haven't installed my aftermarket tach yet, but I think that I would prefer it over a factory unit. No telling what an instrument cluster with a tach would cost at the local pick n' pulls...
