Beefing up tranny??

Do you think i should beef up my tranny before i do any power upgrades?? i plan on doing K&N FIPK, exhaust, chip, and later on propane injection. So do you think i should do the tranny first so i dont have to worry about blowing one up later?

yup - do up the tranny first - add some gauges to that list, and you'll be all set to go!

it all depends on what you are looking to spend. The first and most popular tranny mod is the Sonnax valve and springs that go in the stock valve body. They firm/quicken up your shifts, and are fairly easy to install. The stock TC is not real great - if you can I'd definitely get an aftermarket billet one. I have the Sonnax valve and springs right now - but as soon as I have the money - I am definitely gonna slap in at least a new TC and maybe some Transgo goodies too.

The best mod I have heard is a BTS transmission, Brian's Transmission Shops somewhere in Alabama and I have heard he can customize for your needs and builds it bulletproof. although it may be expensive, it is also the best, but you get what you pay for

Great recommendation, that of BTS, or Brian's Truck Shop. He builds the closest thing to a bullet proof tranny. However, he's in Lead Hill, Arkansas.
