sure sounds like the dampener behind the trany or possibly a bad drum brake in the rear??

YEA it is between the trany and drive shaft! if there is play then most likly it is bad! i've heard of many of these bad with over 100,000 miles on the 2 wheel drive truck
After removing the drive shaft, does the dampener comes off easy???
any special tools needed??? there is any bearing and seal that should I replace once
