1987 Ranger Transmission Problems?
Help! Was having problems starting the truck (turned out it was the fly wheel spacer broken, mangled fly wheel) Replaced starter, replaced fly wheel and spacer. Within two hours of getting truck back from mechanic, the truck stopped in traffic (seemed like it was in neutral, just slipped stop-no go in the street). It starts fine, but... The mechanic says it is probably an unrelated problem. I realize this is possible, however, a huge coincidence since they had to remove the tranny and so on to do the flywheel work. Can anyone give me any advice??? Thanks.

1987 Ranger Transmission Problems?
i have a 85 ford ranger that seems to have the same problem in that the flex plate cracks and make a donut of its self. i've had the transmission replaced about 7 year ago and i've just replaced the flex plate for the 4th time since june of this year . i'm just sure that the transmission has worn out its carrier bearings again which means a new transmission again. been told the a4ld trans is a piece of crap.
