So, I live in the park, a trailer park. They come through and plow, but it is not that good. Any who, with the narrow frame of the highboy, what plows can I fit.
depends how much you want to fabricate i have a 75 f250 with a 7 1/2 foot western that was origanally made for an 88 ford i mounted two plates to the frame to extend it out to the bumper area cut the plow rack to the correct width welded two end plates to it bolted that to my new frame plates made angle iron supports that attach under the engine cradle this set up has worked for 10 years here in minnesota
it depernds on how much you want to fabricate I used a western plow frame from a 88 on my 75 f-250 I attached two 3/8 plates to the frame using existing bolt holes and the front leaf spring bolt cut the plow frame to the correct width welded plates to the plow frame used angle irons to strut it to the enginge cradle. this took a couple nights afterwork a torch a welder and a drill and some scrap steel .
Meyer is going to try and find my setup and get back to me on Monday. But, I located some cheaper plows. The Snow Bear and Snow Sport mount into my class III hitch. These plows are under 1000.00
meyer has a frame upper and lower for the highboy that costs 350 for the lower and 500 for the upper... then just pick up the pump and plow off any old used truck and take the parts you need sell the old bracket and there ya go... definatley stay away from the so called personal snowplows...dad bought one for his 89 ford and caught a curb infront of his house and may as well of bought another new one as ba as he tore it up... cheapo!
