Front ring and pinion

I have a 73 Bronco with a Dana 44 front end. What years of ring and pinion will fit this front axle. I have a 4.10 in it now and I would like to go with a 3.50. Does any thing from a truck or newer Bronco fit. Also I've seen used adjustable drag links on Ebay that have replaceable ends what does these come off of.

Most all of the Ford Dana 44's from 75 on are high pinion and the ring and pinions won't interchange with yours. Some of the earlier model 1/2 ton and some 3/4 tons into the mid 70's. I have a good used 3.54 ring and pinion and a 3 series carrier if your interested.

I guess I should have specified that I was talking about the full size Dana 44's and the later model TTB Dana 44. Yes, the EB 44's will interchange 77 and older.

The ring and pinions from some of the other makes with Dana 44's will also interchange. GM commonly split from 3.42 to 3.73's in their trucks so you won't find much help there. I know that Dodge and Jeep offered a 3.54's in some models.
Some common trucks to look for:
Jeep CJ mid 50's- to the mid 70's, and some later models had 44 as option.
Jeep Cherokees and full size 1/2 tons had 44's front and rear.
Jeep Comanche pickup had a Dana 44 as an HD option in the rear.
Jeep TJ- Rear 44's were optional

Dodge 1/2 ton and light duty 3/4 ton front ends from 72-2002
Including the Ramcharger

So I can use a ring and pinion from up to 77. This can be from 3/4 and 1/2 pickup also? You said I can use a ring and pinion out of a Dodge truck. On the Jeep can I use the rear ring gear on the front? I might be interested in the one you have.

It is a bit confusing. You can use the front ring and pinion from a 77 or earlier Bronco. However, the 75 and later 1/2 ton pickups (and 78 on full size Broncos) used a high pinion design front differential (and 76 on 3/4 tons). The pinion on this differential mates to the ring gear above the ring gear center line. These will not interchange with the Bronco 44.

Yes, can use a Dodge front ring and pinion as long as it has a 44. The Jeep 44's you will find are mostly rear differential, but some of the later full size J series pickups and Wagoneers/ Grand Wagoneers had them in the front. Any of these differentials will work for your Bronco. This applies for factory offerings only though.
