Very loud turbo whine-Hog exhaust?
Very loud turbo whine-Hog exhaust?
Yesterday, while in traffic, a '01 F-350 ROARED by me with the loudest turbo whine I have ever heard. I mean, this was louder than a big rig, and responded perfectly to the engine's RPM's. I could even hear it at idle! I was so taken back by this that I followed the guy to where he was going and asked him what kind of setup he was running. I expected him to tell me all about some super ball bearing turbo with a aftermarket intake and chip, but much to my surprise he said he only had a "Hog" exhaust system with 4" pipe from the turbo back and an 8 inch tip! He said the 8 inch tip was what was making all the whine so loud. He claimed that everything else was bone stock and was even still running his cat. Anybody have one of these exhausts?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Hey....I saw it with my own eyes, other wise I wouldn't believe it either! I didn't get out and measure it with a tape, but this thing was big enough to put a soccer ball in!
I'm kind of bummed out now though. I checked on Hogs website and they don't make a kit for my year truck ('97), just '99's on up.

Does an 01' even have a cat? I don't think so.

My partner has an '01 and this looked the same as his, but I know it was fairly new, in the 2000's.

"quote" thing, just hit the "quote" button that is right below the message that you want to quote. Then, a message window will pop up with the persons previous message written in it with brackets and the word QUOTE at each end. At this point, you can select text to highlight or delete, or just leave the message in it's entire form. Put your cursor at the end of the quoted message and hit the enter key to go to a new line, then start typing! Now do you believe me?
The pipe was exiting on a 45 degree angle right where the stock pipe is, on the passenger side behind the wheel.
Now it's your turn to try it!
