Smile Manual + Performance chip

Fellow Diesel Lovers,
I was curious how well the trucks repond to the "chips" with the manual transmission? I have an early 99 F-250 supercab 4x4 with 6 spd and 285's (95,000miles). I bought the truck last month!( I'm still excited!!)
If I'm on a light slope (downhill)I can take off in 2nd easy. The gearing seems low and it appears the "chip" would remove the need for 1st.??
Also, below 1500rpm's my turbo doesn't really whistle. It kinda "moans". Once you start building rpm's the whistle begins and it really takes off. Is this normal or do I need to change the bearings(turbo)?
I love this Truck, don't know how I made it without it!! I just want to make sure it's ok before I look into perf. upgrades.

Thanks for listening,

Mike

I have a 1996 F-350 4x4 with a five speed and i have to edge 100 horse chip in it, i only use 1st gear when i am towin the trailer or something like that. Doesnt seem to affect the tranny at all with the chip.Really made the truck come alive though. Also been told that these trucks wouldnt smoke but that edge programmer lets this thing smoke like a freight train. With my k+n filter and my 3.5 downpipe it really runs.

Killing clutches is more about bad use than horsepower. You drive em like a sports car and you're going to eat clutches (but it sure is fun)! Just put the Diablo Delta chip in my truck and all I can say is HOLY CRAP! I love this thing. Good luck and enjoy the new truck.
