Looking at 1995 SC Ranger, Comments Please
I have been driving F-150s for years but am considering a Ranger. I drove a 1995 Supercab yesterday. XLT, Auto with 3.0. I was pretty impressed. It was very quiet, had good pickup when I got up on the freeway. I have heard that the 3.0 is a very reliable engine. What about the transmission? I assume for 1995 the A/C would be 134-A. This truck has about 55,000 miles on it. When should timing, or serpentine belt be changed?
Any advise, warnings?
The truck had just come out of make ready. It is a beautiful dark blue/over silver. Enterior is near perfect. Salesman said asking price is around $9000. Is that a fair price.
I'm a little reluctant to go to the smaller truck. I like to sit up high in the F150.
What do you folks think.

Hey, I've got a 95 SC Ranger 4x4 and love it. It has 151,000 miles and no trouble yet. I had the serp belt replaced at 120,ooo, and new tires somewhere around there. Most comfortable vecichle I've owned, and I travel a lot in it. I have the manual tranny though, and don't know about the auto's reliability. I'd say go for it. I've had nothing but a great experience.

I recently sold my 92 Flareside F150 and bought a 97 Ranger SC with 4.0 and 5 spd auto. I like it a lot. I also own a 73 one ton wrecker and have owned and driven Ford trucks for over 30 Years. The Ranger accelerates faster than the F150 (5.0L) and handles better and rides better but it is a little short on interior room (I'm 5'8" 240lbs).
