Water thumping
On my 94 3.0 I have tracked down a loud thumping noise to the hoses from the water pump to the heater matrix. From in side it sounds like a stow-away in the glove box!. It is not there all the time and gradually diminishes at idle. Any ideas on how to get rid of it.

I don't think it would be air. The water pump takes the water from the bottm of the radiator, and then it dumps backinto the top. If You think there's a possibility that it may be air then fill your radiator and with the cap off let it come up to temperature. You'll know it's up to temp be either watching the temp gauge or when the upper hose starts getting hot and you see water swirling inside of the radiator. If the system is not full as the radiator opens your water lever will drop in the radiator keep refilling it until it maintains the proper level. While you're doing this make sure the heater is on so you can bleed all the air out of the heater box at the same time.
