How do you guys feel about cats? Do you love them or hate them? I know some people have mentioned this in other threads, but I wanted to have all of your opinions together.
I don't like cats for several reasons. First, they don't have, or I haven't noticed, much loyalty. Almost all, except 1, of the cats I know listen at all. I guess I'm profiling, but there is only one cat I like, and it disapeared mysteriously.
I have one, a guy at work was going to take him to the pound. He's a cow cat, black and white. Good to have around, someone to talk to.. plus he doesn't talk back..
Cats are good company to have around but they are kinda funny, cuddely when there happy, vindictive if they get in trouble by you, cunning, they can be evil when they feel playfull.....come to think of it cats are alot like most women....anyway the one main thing about cats if you want there loyalty, you have to earn it they dont give it away like dogs, dont get me wrong i love dogs, great animals but they are stupid, cats are more coy.
My wife's cat and I had a good relationship and understanding. The cat despised me and everything that was mine, and I hated the cat and didn't trust it. PS Its not true cats will drink anti-freeze, even if you put it in a fancy glass, put a toothpick with fancy tuna fish on it and place one of the little umbrellas in it.

Yep, cats are cool. My roommates cat was brought up very rough by one of his old roommates who would wear welding gloves and torment him as a kitten so the cat is quite hesitant to make friends with people and will rather hiss and claw if he doesn't know you, or he'll more likely just go and hide until you are gone. But I've made good friends with him and I have the scratches to prove it. He would play quite rough at the beginning; scratching and biting etc but I'd jsut give him a firm push when he did it and he got the message. I play a little rough with him now and he's not overzealous with the scratching and biting... I don't get anything I don't deserve, and now I can actually pet him for more than 5 seconds without him wanting to fight.
I had a lot of cats while I was growing up. I like cats. When they are awake they can be pretty entertaining.
My fiance is allergic so we can't have one, but now we have a Chihuahua named Estrella (E-straya... spanish for star) and a Boxer named Jayden so now I'm a dog person.
Cats were good when I didn't want responsibility, but now that I have settled down I love having my dog-ters.

I had a few cats as a kid as well.
Sounds like my Mom's old cat. She would only let me hold her and usually not for more than a few minutes.
Speaking of entertaining, my Chihuahua is chasing the pointer right now and licking the screen on my laptop. It's due for a cleaning anyway.
initially this one would rip your arm off if you even tried to pick him up. I started being brave and picking him up then put him down as soon as he started fussing then pat him; now he'll let me get from the kitchen to the living room without too much fuss. Actually I started picking him up by the scruff of the neck and he didn't have a choice then and he'd just kind of look around and lick himself after the lift.
I LOVE MY CATS! I have 3 right now in my current house. I did have 5 at one time when I lived in my apartment. Call me crazy but they are great cats. I love them sooo much that I want to be one ---> https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/s...light=strange+ HAHA!
