Work Close To Home Checked Thermostat Ok Dosent Heat Up Fast Enough My Freind Put Cardboard In Front Of Radiator For Winter Is This Ok

Does it come up to normal operating temp other than on your short trip? If not, get it checked out!!! The low coolant temp causes the vehicle's computer to send a rich mixture to the fuel injectors. As the coolant/engine gradually warms up, you progressively reach the optimal engine fuel/air ratio. Rich mixtures are not only expensive (fuel costs), but they can cause premature cylinder/ring wear. Go easy on the throttle if your trips are that short.
