Injectors and New Flash
P.S. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL MY NEW FOUND FRIENDS AT FTE.
I took my 03 6.0 to the dealer Wednesday, told them I had tow/haul issues. I had the numbers for the new flash, but the service person said she did not need them, that it would get the newest flash. Well, I got the truck back, and the invoice said they programed the pcm and something else, but it didn't give any flash numbers. Needless to say, the truck runs great. A definite increase in throttle response, and seat of the pants acceleration, especially from a stop. It does spin the tires on damp roads, have to be careful now. The lie-o-meter is showing 18-19mpg now, and that is without any real highway speeds, and it is really getting cold here in N. La., it was 25 this morning, should be in the teens tonight. Keeping the block heater on all night, using 15W40. Haven't had a chance to tow yet, but it's shifting smooth as silk in regular mode. No smoke at startup, saw a little white puff when I stomped on it. One thought, I used to get a higher idle at start up, then it would idle down when I hit the brake to put it in gear. Now, it just starts right up, goes into a steady idle at about 700 rpm or so,and stays there. No complaints, just different now. I'm crossing my fingers on the mileage. Filled up yesterday, put in a 16oz.bottle of power service yearound formula(white bottle). No more injector problems yet since the initial failure of #8 at 1100 miles. Stay tuned.....
