Mad... reading your request very closely it would appear that you are the go to guy for this information. At least you would have dimensions and details of a modern Chevy truck frame... plus all of the know how concerning issues of fit and form.

No surprise that you didn't find what you seek in the search. There appear to be two reasons for this: 1) putting vintage F-100 sheetmetal on another frame has not yielded a successful swap for the effort, and 2) nobody here has done it or wants to admit it.

The answer seems to be: No newer truck frame is best for an undercarriage swap for an F-100. Your background in frame swapping, however, gives you a leg up in the attempt... and I, for one, would like to see this question resolved satisfactorily. A fellow on another board does an S-10, early Chevy truck swap. His trucks "hug the earth"... overdone in the lowering department IMO... but that's not your biggest issue. Perhaps this is the start of some valuable research. good luck. himmelberg

Ya I been a chevy guy all my Life.. this is the firt ford I have taken on for any mods.. So Im looking for any info in the best way to go... IE: putting power stearing in it.. Power breaks.. I did change out the Gen for a delco 160 watt 1 wire Alt. Whats realy amazing is it dont burn any oild and after I replaced the card it runs great. I did find a web sits thats offers Headers and a 4 BBL carb intake for it.. >>>http://www.cliffordperformance.com/Site04/Home.htm<<< So Im planning on keeping the stock Engine if a chassie swap not going to work... Live and learn.. But one must always have fun doing it..
