maybe if you were to force air into say...another leaf blowers engine.... but even them, a leafblower doest compress the air much if any.

I built one about 8 years ago for my v-6 camaro. used large leaf blower and built custom intake tubing. mathematically it would build 9 psi, but as pressure would build in the intake track it could not build as much cfm's as in a free flow situation so I dont know what it really put out.

I don't think it feasible, but bless you for the experimentation.

A leaf blower will generate a lot of flow, however it doesn't generate any pressure worth mentioning. Similar to a shop vac.

Plus, you'd have two aspects of inefficiency... electricity being converted to a rotating force, i.e. the motor, which is 1/2 efficient at best, plus the inefficiency of the inverter, converting 12VDC to 120VAC for the leaf blower, which is 85% efficient at best.

10A leaf blower +15% = 11.5A @ 120V = 1280W
115A required for inverter.

That's an awful lot of loss, for something that won't help very much.

My leaf blower is rated at 300 cfm. So I would bet that even a 4cyl. Focus needs way more air than that to run.

You wouldn't even gain 1 hp from a setup like that. See those so called electric "superchargers"? They use a far more powerful motor and flow much more air than a typical electric leaf blower....and those e-superchargers barely create any positive manifold pressure. The power required to build boost at the cfm's the engine requires is far more than any leaf blower can produce.

It's very easy to figure out how useless a leaf blower is:

Dude c'mon! I run like seven of those leaf blowers inline and get like 1,000,000 HP. These things rock! I will sell you my setup for $2000. Give me an email.

Where is the air filter? Does the fan in the leaf blower some how magically filter out everything and expell it out the bottom? Is there a scoop in the hood for the top of the blower to draw air in?

I first saw that back when I had a thunderbird...that's on a 4.6L t-bird. I about died laughing when I saw that.

Toro! Toro!
