Hi can anybody tell me if you can put a roller cam in a 460? And if so does the block need any extra work, would like to run roller rockers on the heads.Any help whould be great. thanks Rory
you will need heads machined for studs (adjustable rockers) and guideplates. You will need shorter pushrods in most cases. I am running the Crane PowerMax hydraulic roller cam in my 460.

Mshumack ~ off topic, but where'd you get the cool doomuhflotchee that covers your dizzy cap and wires? We get a lot of rain here in Georgia - I'd feel a lot better if I knew my plug-em wires were nice and dry.....
The roller cams don't require any special modifications to the block itself.
They do require a new distributor gear, because the cams are made of steel instead of cast iron.
Also, mixed views on this, but many guys like to run a cam plate with a Torrington bearing in it...since the roller cams are hardened and can eat into the cast cam plate. Some guys have issue with this, some don't, but my view is that the torrington setup eliminates any guesswork.

I pulled it off a wreaked mustang at the salavge yard during one of my excursions.
