I've got a 76 f250 4x4 crew cab, was wanting to know if the brake pedal sits way high in all of these trucks 73-79 or is there a way to adjust the height. Mine sits so high that I have to lift my foot up off the gas to step on the brake, can't just slide it over. hope I have explained this well enough(since I can't draw a picture) to get some responce. Thanx for any help.
My '73 F100 came with manual brakes, and I had to raise my foot to get on the brake pedal - it was even with the clutch pedal. A couple years ago, I installed power brakes and now the pedal is more even with the gas pedal - much more cofortable for driving.
Oldhalftons, thats a stock AM radio eh? Nice. I would go original too but need to listen to my old country music with some definition.
Cheapevil, I think I need to lift my foot a little but not exessively high. I'll check when I get home from work the day after tomorrow. The power vs manual brake thought is a good one too.
I know that there is an adjustment in the shaft between the master cyl and the pedal but I don't think that would make a difference in where the pedal sits. Unsure though as I cant see it from here. (I converted to a 76 brake system in my 74 for the discs brakes) I'll check the day after tomorrow
