My 1/2 drive is a snap on brand but is clearly made by I-R. Its composit frame and 640 lbs in both directions, just like the I-R composit. I have to say that my buddy in the shop has an aircat and it is really quiet and has more poop than My S-O. If your gonna buy a 3/4 wrench then be prepared to feed it a lotta air.
I love those Thunder Guns, they sound like the NASCAR ones, but probably out of the price range, unless you can find one on eBay. I would definetly go with Ingersoll though. Thats what all the air tools we have at work are. They're good quality tools.

I did get mine on Ebay when Sears was selling them on there way back. I think I paid $135 shipped. It's hard to find one for under 200 bucks now. When I have it out, people in the buildings around mine come to see what the racket is
I threw away my IM 5100 snapon-JUNK!!! IR is the only way to go!! My worn out 10 yr old mac/IR had more than the IM. Thunder guns are the same as 231 series, just opened up a little to make them louder, who needs to go home with their ears ringing??
I think the IR 231 is a real good bargin, I tried one out but thought it was a bit top heavy. Shouldn't be an issue unless you're using it all day. The newer ones are made in China. (The Snap On version is still made in the U.S.A.)
