So I'm trying to replace my fuel filter but am having trouble finding my inertia switch. My Haynes book said it is located on the drivers side of the firewall, to the left of the brake pedal or behind the right kick panel....
So I was looking to the left of my break pedal in the cab.... I'm I close... do I need to go under the truck???
I have a 92, auto, 4x4... 5.0 liter.
If anyone knows where to find this can you give simple direstions... cause I dont know what or where a right kick panal is...is that just the who panal on the outside of the truck?? Anyways..simple directions would be a big help.
In your 92 its behind the right side kick panel which is no where near the "left of the brake pedal". The right side kick panel is the plastic panel to the right of the passenger's feet. Behind this panel you will find all sorts of goodies including the PCM, 4WD shift controller (if your t-case is electronically shifted) and the intertia switch for the fuel system.
hey thanks for the reply... I found the inertia switch no problem... no how the hell do I get the gas lines off!?!? They dont look like anything in the book...and it definitely doesnt just pull off..... does the 92 bronco need a special tool.... damn thing.
Yep you need the tool. Called a Ford fuel line tool or a Garter Spring Release Line Tool. Any decent parts store should carry them. I think I paid $10 for mine.
