The reverse-tilt mirrors were standard on the '03 Eddie Bauer Expeditions and standard on the early '04 Eddie Bauers. The mid-late built '04s and current '05s do not have the reverse-tilt feature. The feature was deleted because of various problems with the mirrors not returning to the pre-reverse tilt position. My '03 Eddie Bauer just needed the updated memory module, which fixed the reverse-tilt problems, so all is perfect now. However, to answer your question, yes, your Eddie Bauer should have the feature and it can be turned on/off by pressing the setup buttom on your message center until reverse-tilt is displayed, then press reset to either turn the feature on/off.
My 03 navi at times the mirros go crazy I shut it off and they on the right position, turn back on and they are pointing to the floor.
Whats up with that?
You need to take it in and ask them to replace the memory module and the motors on the mirrors as the gears are more than likely stripped from all the popping that they sometimes do. This corrected all my mirror issues and all is fine now.
Thanks to everybody, this has been very helpful.
All this repairs should appear in a CARFAX history? Just to have a way to verify if the truck has had all the updates.
You might want to also take a peek at the Tahoe, my neighbor got one the same time I got my '03 Expedition. His gets better gas mileage, and has yet to go back to the dealer for any problems. My Expedition has been back to the dealer numerous times for most everything you see listed here.
Sadly I bought the '03 because of the positive experience I had with my '00 Expedition, seems as if a lot has changed.
Well I have a similar story just with an opposite turnout, I have a friend that has a Tahoe and it has had numerous transmission troubles, memory seat problems, small ticking and rattling noises, along with bad gas mileage. His '04 has had many more problems than my '03 and it doesn't drive or ride near as well. I think it is all a matter of opinion and preference in the long run. Just drive all that you're interested in and see for yourself which suits you best.

Good point! I drove my buddies Tahoe while my Expedition was in the dealership, it didn't ride as nice on the highway as my Expedition. But it did do a lot better on gas than my 5.4. Funny you should mention the Memory seat that's my trucks newest trick, it goes back for the easy exit an locks up in the rear position. But the dealer says it's a case of "unable to replicate customer complaint", even thought it was still locked up when I picked it up, and showed them it was still locked up.
Like I said I loved my 2000 Expedition it was a great truck, the 2003 and I don't get along so well.....
I feel you on the seat issue, my seat would go all the way back and the motor would still run a little then kick off. This never jammed the seat like you're talking about but it was a problem that was fixed when I took it in to the dealer for the mirror issue. To correct the mirror problem, they had to replace the driver's seat memory module which corrected the seat issue, now I can hear the seat motor kick right off when it reaches the back, the motor no longer runs for a sec of two any more, just cuts right off when it moves as far back as it can. I love my '03 Expedition, my friend's '04 XLT has had many problems, including whining rearend which I have never had, a/c cutting in and out on the highway, which I also have never had, along with annoying rattles that my '03 has never had. By the way, I had a '99 Tahoe LT before this '03 Expy, and I loved it but, the transmission failed, so I traded, as it already had 94,000 miles on it. The Expy handles light years better.
Strange...my 03 EB mirrors NEVER moved when in reverse....maybe that is just as well. The only real problem, is an annoying rattle in the dash that I've been trying to track down....but can't find. I will have to take it in I guess. Other than the brake dust, and rattle and the somewhat expected bad gas mileage, it's been fine for me.
Crappy brake pads. Well...they stop fine, they just dust a lot.
Crappy tires.
Limited slip problems in some (not mine though)
Doors rattling. (Driver's side in my case) TSB issued to "solve" problem.
Body cladding fading. Can be replaced under warranty.
Will not "peel out" on dry pavement because it is an overweight, underpowered soccer-mom mobile. I still like mine though...
Add power window buttons that fall out when my kids look at 'em (or so it seems), windshield seal that flutters at 80+ mph (drive ya nuts!), and indifferent radio reception, and you've about got it. Still, all in all, a likeable truck.
Thank god I'm not the only one with the little rubber piece, from the windshield seal, that flaps while on the highway. My mother's new '04 Navigator has the same little piece that flaps, but it is worse than mine so I'm not complaining. It is the passenger side top corner that flaps on mine.

Yep- same place on ours. Our service manager swears he's never heard of that problem before.
I had an 03 Yukon Denali for 13000 miles, in less that a year it had the muffler replaced, ignition, carpet, drivers seat, ac condencer, compressor, battery, tranny would downshift real hard from 2nd to 1st. Flashed 3 times, head lights were flickering.
Don't even remember how many more things when wrong with that truck before I traded it for an 03 Navy. One thing I know, I won't buy another GM product again.
My aunt's '02 Escalade had a few nit-picky problems i.e. lights flickering sometimes and, when I drove it, I could feel the All Wheel Drive in the front end, I didn't like that; it made me feel like something was loose up there. However, she has recently traded for an '04 Escalade All Wheel Drive and it has been nothing but perfect. With so many vehicles being produced by every car manufacturer, it is no wonder some have various problems here and there, granted, some vehicles seriously are Lemons.

Funny how that works. We've had 5 Suburbans- 4 were as close to perfect as you would hope for, one was so bad GM bought it back. One thing that surprises me though- a lot of folks don't realize that sometimes the best option with a troublesome vehicle is to have the thing bought back or traded for another one. GM and Ford both have systems in place to do this.
