'40 electric wipers

I've seen a lot of advertising for electric wiper conversions for passenger cars but when I ask about '40 pickups I am met with blank stares. I saw a build up article a while ago in one of the hot rod mags about a switch to electrics but I can't remember which one. Anybody out there gone through this? Thanks Lazy

There's actually a couple of solutions out there. On my '41, as a temporary measure, I've installed a 'Mighty Wiper'. They run about a hundred bucks or so, but aren't reallt what I'd like as a PERMANENT solution. On my '34 Sedan I installed Specialty Power Windows Electric Wiper solution, It's a bit pricey (almost 300), but I added the passenger side wiper which wasn't standard on the '34 Sedan (Oh, btw, it's a Chebby).
There's another wiper manufacturer who actually builds the motors for most others anyway, and their solution runs in the neighborhood of 185.00. They are 'Newport Wipers' this link is to the newest offering they have in their line, for 1940 to 1947 Ford Trucks. I'm pretty sure this is the way I'm going to go for my '41.http://www.newportwipers.com/new.html

Hope this helps

Hey '41, thanks for the tip. I've contacted New Port Engeneering. Their new product line for '40 - '47 looks like the solution. Lazy
