Waht kind of noise are you getting; What model, cab, etc? Wind noise may require new door seals; door latch, hinge adjustments, hinge pin replacement. Engine noise may come in thru bad seals on fire wall, floor seals for transmissions etc. Also undercoating can help cut down noise. Understand that only so much can be done with this body style - as I have seen elsewhere in this forum it has the aerodynamics of a brick - probably flying sideways.

I used several things to help me with this same problem:

1. Rubberized undercoating in a spray can. Bought at local auto parts store for about $4 each. I coated the inside of the doors and the firewall. When you apply it, the first coat goes on regular then after a few coats, hold the can back about 2 feet as this will catch more air and cause a foam to form.

2. Insulation mats, I bought some from another local speed shop, it's alum backed about 1/2" thick and is glued in place.

3. thick carpet, and undercarpet mats, I pulled a bunch of undercarpet mats from newer cars at the junk yards, it's also glued into place.

4. alignment for doors / windows and weatherstriping, on older trucks this is more important than newer ones.

5. remove head liner and cover with rubberized undercoating

On important note: The thickness of the material is very important, BUT don't forget to cover EVERY hole, crack, etc...

Check groments in firewall and cab floor.

If the engine is most of the problem, try heat deflector plates, most stock trucks have these around the exhaust. They can be made from thin sheet metal and should be close but not touching the firewall/floor. Use washers as spacers to create an air gap

Custom made underbody / belly pans help too. A little involved to make but really cut down on engine to cab noise.

Good Luck - KarlJay.

THank you the truck itself is pretty tight.I do resalize it is not new but I have 91k miles on it and I was mainly trying to suspend road noise. It is a Flare side reg cab with vinyl everything bench, floor, dash etc. under the seat there is no thing just metal so anything to reduce not really eliminate the noise from safe daily driving. Thank you both for the suggestions they shoul go a long way towards resolving my issue

Firewall is vertical bulkhead forward of the dashboard - open the hood and the metal below the windshield to the floor is the firewall. You can get to both sides - the inside is the upper floor and front of bottom of the dash. Depends on what you are trying to get to and do. There are a lot of grommets and seals for cabling, brake /clutch rods and other components that go thru to engine compartment. Al of these need to be intact and seal. Good luck!
