I have just joined the ranks of Ranger owners and have a few questions about it. I have an '89 4 X 4 super cab with 5 speed.\
What I am after is the MPG I can expect with this set up. Also would like to know what the rear-end is. I looked and found the following: E 77 W-AA is that the code for what is in the rear-end? If so, what is the gearing and is it limited slip. I found the axle codes on the Ranger web-site, but nothing matches. Any help or ideas as to ways to increase the MPG, it seems to be getting around 13-14 MPG is that normal or should it be higher?
Thanks
I have a 89 Ranger, ext. cab STX with the 2.9L V-6, 4 spd auto. The truck has a 5.5 inch Superlift and 33 inch BFG's. My rear axle is a 7.5 inch, 4.10 gear, limited slip. On the axle tag, it should have some numbers, such as "3 73 or 4 10" to indicate the ratio. Limited slip is indicated by a "L" inbetween the numbers, "4 L 10" is what mine has.
