has anyone ever ran a performer or a stealth intake on a mostly stock 460 4V?
im looking in to getting one but im not sure which. i like the broad rpm range on the stealth but im afraid of losing low end. is the edelbrock better for low end? my truck will eventually have headers, and a good flowing exhaust. the only other thing i will change is the gear from a 2.75 to a 3.50. it also already has a 750 holley....
smoke n tires ~ I'm running the performer on a "mostly stock" 460. I chose it because it makes a good daily driver (110 miles a day) through the hills of North Georgia twice a day. I don't do that much "expressway" driving so I didn't choose the stealth because I don't have to "wind-it-up" that much. I needed mid-range torque and I've got more than I can handle....I've never had the pedal to the metal (don't need it) and usually travel at barely off-idle. I've got a modest Lunati cam and L&L headers and the engine has been blueprinted / balanced / trued / straightned / aligned / bored / cussed at and fussed at. On top of the Performer I have the Avenger 770. I believe there is a picture of it in my gallery....if not, you can eyeball it at www.mistynewbeak.com - just click on the "Harrison" link....
