I want to get my father a bed cover for 05 f150 king ranch that he can take off on his own if he needs too but is somewhat weather proof, does anyone have any suggestions?
I run the Fold-a-cover. About the same (probably exactly the same) as the k-cover. My wife and I love it. She's able to raise the panels, fold the back three up onto the first, everything by herself. We didn't get a fiberglass because she couldn't manipulate it.
With the super deep beds on our trucks there is tremendous room under the tonneau.
Bad thing about the Fold cover types, If you want to remove it completely, you need an allen wrench. Its big enough with the three panels folded up to carry, at the same time, 56'' big screen and a huge sidebyside refrigerator. You don't need to remove it, just fold it up.
I added a tailgate lock to my keyless entry, very easy job, and a keyless lock to the front panel, totaly easy. This made it the best cover I have ever used. Secure with no effort, and super easy front or back to access.

I keep 2 tiny wrenches in my glove box for the purpose of backing out the 2 screws that secure the cover to the bed. Literally takes less than 5 minutes to loosen those screws and pull the cover off.
I would love the seal of a one-piece fiberglass cover, but I need to remove mine now and then and I wanted to be able to store the cover along with the cargo if I needed to. Say I bought something unexpected and needed to remove the cover at the store...no problem. Can't do that with a large heavy one-piece. And this one still locks and is made of metal...so it's sturdy.
I had an Extang snap-on for my 2003 F150 SuperCrew and hated it - terrible in cold weather. On my new 2005 F150 SuperCrew I went with the Truxedo low Profile. Not only does it look great but it is durable and easily to handle in cold weather. I say go with the Low Profile Truxedo - you won't be dissapointed.
Chrisadams where did you get your fold-a-cover? I like the idea of the panels, buddy of mine has a avalanche and it has the panels that you can remove. I just want to cover all my base's here before I get him one. Thanks
I got a Truxedo Low Profile recently also. Really like it alot. I needed something of good quality, but inexpensive (I paid $371 online), and something that would allow me to haul large items at a moment's notice. This fit the bill pretty well.

This place has a lot of covers. I bought my Fold-a-Cover here. I got a good price, but it varies from day to day. They don't give you a tracking number, but the top shipped quickly.

Whoops, looks like they won't let you link to this site. You might type in the address...
