Cutting Rotors

About a year ago I had a mechanic change my rotors. Now I need to have them cut & want to take it apart myself. The only problem is I can get the rotor off. The truck is a 91' Ranger 4x4. Can anyone out there help.
Vinnie.

If it's like the 88, just take a screwdriver and a hammer to tap that nut loose. Use the same approach to tighten it. Use commen sense - do not just hand tighten it nor hammer the thing real tight. The first time you do it, it's not a bad idea to check your bearings to see if they rotate freely after say 100 miles and check for excess play in case you didn't tighten them enough.

There is a grove along the length of the spindle. The grove is in between the nut & the spindle and there is a rectangular key in the groove. Without getting the key out, the nut is not moving. The key is flush and there isn't even a way to get a pair of neeedle nose around it.
