Please do not use all caps in the future. A reflash is when the dealer loads a new computer program into your trucks computer, in essence, 'reflashing' it with new information.
It is a software update like your pc. The dealer can scan your computer, and let you know if you have the most up to date program. Ford might not have a newer program for you.
Let me give an example tomdoggie. I purchased my 04 Lariat Scab on 10-21-04. (2400 miles) The build date on it was 12-12-03. I read on here that if it was flashed with the latest revision, I might get better fuel mileage. I took it to my dealer and they hung the little portable computer on the steering wheel and plugged it into the port under the steering wheel and in a few minutes told me that I did NOT have the latest revision.
1. I did'nt have to make an appointment.
2. It took 16 minutes for the tech to reflash.
3. They did not charge for the reflash.
4. I can not tell that anything is different. (It may be, but I just cant tell)
5. I am trying to build a positive relationship with the service manager just in case it's needed in the future.
Mike
P.S. I did offer the excuse that I did'nt believe my fuel mileage was as it should be.
