331 belt issues

331 belt issues

Recently I finished a 331 stroker, and I had a problem getting all the belts to line up. They still don't line up properly and it just throws them off. On my old 302 it was about three inches from the timing chain cover to the outside of the harmonic balancer. New motor is 2 inches, any ideas on how to get another inch. I have found a spacer that goes behind the harmonic balancer but I'm worried that might throw off the balance of the motor. Would changing to a serpentine belt help the problem. Thanks

a serp swap may help. i doubt that spacer will affect the balance so you may think about using it first. youll know right away if its throwing things off
