Harmonic balancer

Will a harmonic balancer from an 85 f150 4.9 with v ribbed belts, work on a 89 4.9 with a serp belt system. bought a 89 motor but didnt think about the serp belt system and i need to put my v belt balancer on. but dont want to screw anything up with the motor???

I don't know, but things to look for are timing mark locations, bolt patterns for the pulley, and thickness. The six doesn't have any balancing on the outside, so that should not be a issue.
