Newbie Looking at 01 PSD?
Hello,
I'm just discovering the world of the X, I'm currently looking at a 1 Owner 2001 Exp 7.3 PSD w/ 31,000k. It was traded in on Wednesday at a loacl dealer, I've have been looking for one for the last couple of months. Truck seems to be in excellent condition owner traded for 04' F250 6.0L because he wanted a PU. I got the dealer to 27.5K is this a fair price?

I just got an 01' 7.3L XLT 4X4 tow package in NorCal asking price was the same got them down to $26K.
KBB that truck and you will see it KBB private party at around $29K. See what KBB says it is worth for trade in and that is what you have to work with. Let the dealer know you know what the value to them was and they may be willing to work. It isn't uncommon for the dealer to have $9K profit written into used cars.
I would say with 33K miles and a single owner, go for it. You still have a year or two on the 5 yr/100K factory warranty. We traded in an 03' Expedition for our Excursion and will be trading it in in a few years for another we love it so much. Only complaint is that the XLT interior trim is not what the 03' Expediton XLT trim was.
Gets better mileage too. We're looking at 15-16 average town/hwy. 18 Hwy.
The Expedition got 12-14 average and 16 hwy. 6-7 towing.
You need to make a decision on that truck, because it is difficult to find used diesel Excursion and a lot of people are lookign for them.
