I had the PCM updated on my truck over the weekend, 100.00. It has significantly reduced the lag in the TC and was well worth it. Titan
$100 for the reprogramming?? Boy I got lucky, good thing my old man made friends with the tranny guy. I ran it up there over lunch and he reprogrammed it free of charge. But I'll agree, it's definitely worth it.
What did you tell the stealership you wanted done? Just update the PCM? And did it update other things on the engine or just deal with the tranny? I am going to take mine in also and would like to know what to tell them to do.
Tell them to update your PCM (Powertrain Control Module) with the most current update available, this included engine and tranny updates. As far as price goes, I called four dealerships in Denver Metro, prices ranged from 100 to 175. John Elway in Boulder was the 100 low. They put a sticker on the inside of my door also.
Another note, I had a diablo predator program in my PCM (dealer did not care.) But after update the predator did not recognize the vehicle. Had to call diablo (very cool) and punch in unlock codes over phone. This could have been avoided if I had put my truck back to stock. Not, I repeat NOT the stock tune selection on the predator, this is steal considered a tune and if left in your truck, you will be in the same boat I was...
