Let us not rush. I'm sure the shock of even believing something like this happening is a head rush to a lot of people. More will be forthcoming, no doubt.
I looked up what concert was to be played at the Alrosa Villa tonight and this is what it says on their website.

I know phil from pantera personally. Went to high school with him. Usually only see him once a year now around halloween when they are doing there haunted house. Check out www.houseofshock.com Last we talked he seemed positive that there would be no more pantera. He wants to focus all his attention on his other band Super joint ritual.
Thats where I read it. I went to the site to see tour dates and what not to see iif they were really on tour. And figuring that if this really did happen, someone would post it on those forums.
Damageplan is dimebag and vinnys new band. They have this great new singer named pat lachman and a bassist from hawaii they call bob zilla.... I hope the band is ok.
COLUMBUS, Ohio -- At least three people died and four others were wounded after a shooting at a Columbus nightclub on Wednesday night, NBC 4 reported.
The shooting took place shortly after 10 p.m. at Alrosa Villa, located at 5055 Sinclair Road.
Two members of the heavy metal band Damageplan were reportedly shot and killed, including Dimebag Darrell, formerly with the band Pantera, NBC 4's David Wayne reported. The alleged gunman also died at the scene, Wayne reported.
Shortly after the band began playing its first song, a man reportedly ran onto the stage and began shooting, according to a witness who identified himself as Sean. Some members of the audience reportedly thought the man running onto the stage with a gun was part of the band's act, NBC 4's Erin Tate reported.
Witnesses said that several shots were fired at the band. Witnesses said that a bouncer at the club tackled the alleged gunman before that person was shot and killed. It was unclear as to whom shot the alleged gunman.
Alrosa Villa is a popular north Columbus nightspot for young adults, featuring rock and heavy metal bands, NBC 4 reported.
According to the band's Web site, Damageplan was touring nationally. It performed in Buffalo, N.Y., on Tuesday night and had a concert scheduled in Flint, Mich., on Thursday.
Damageplan featured former Pantera artists Dimebag Darrell and Vinnie Paul. The pair were joined by vocalist Patrick Lachman and bassist Bobzilla, according to their Web site.

Position 6, had just left the stage. THey are usually the last or next to last performance before the main act. If they had played another 5 minutes it could have been my brother in the back of that ambulance.
Thank god that your brother is ok pfogle. Ive been scouring the net for articles since you broke the news to us. This is truly awful. RIP Darrell, as well as the others that have perished in this horrendous act.
And the people around here wonder why I miss rural indiana... I loved it over there, I could see the stars at night, and have open headers at 3 am and noone cared.
terrible news.....I find myself asking why, more and more everyday....
I remember laughing at Pantera wayyy back, when they were a glam band, only to grow to like them when they turned "heavy"....
Godspeed, you guys will be missed...
It's a shame, I know that there will be a really dumb reason why this shooting occured. It's always someone taking out their personal issues on the rest of the world. Look at the people that lose their jobs then turn around and turn their former workplace into a shooting range.
I can just imagine how it must have been once everyone realized what was going on. A lot of people packed into a room, it must have been total chaos.
I don't have the first clue about the band but it sucks that there are idiots out there that have to mess up an otherwise prefectly good night of fun for so many others.
It is assumed at this piont that the gunman (a pantera fan) was mad that pantera split up. Since the gunman was shot and killed, I doubt we'll ever know the real reason behind it.
