Frame bracket rotting away

Anyone else have this problem with 92-96 F-series. I have a 95 F150 and my dad has a 92 F150. Both trucks have been driven in michigan since new. My dads 92 was undercoated new. The problem is that the brackets for the leaf springs and shackles, radius arm brackets, and a few other under there are serverly rotting away. But yet the frame still looks like new and has undercoating it. My 95 was never undercoated. Its worse than just surface rust, its like you can peel layers of rust off. But yet my old 82 F100 has no problem as such. It was driven in michigan as well. I almost think that ford used a cheaper quality when they stamped out these pieces as compared to the steel used to make the frame. Anyone else have this problem?

I replaced 2 on a 94 ranger yesterday and 1 on a 93-4 150 last week.Common problem on 92-up,seems like the left side usually goes first.(Maybe from accumulated salt in center of road ?).

I replaced both rear leaf hangers on my 92. They were both on the left side. I had a shop do it, the parts are around $40.00 from the Ford dealer and the labor isn't too bad.
