odd sound

Red face odd sound
I have a 2002 f-150 with a 5.4L , I get this whinning sound at about 80km/h but only in cold weather, usually it's going up hills but now it's starting to make this noise more frequent and even when I pull off the gas (it's just a little fainter of a sound). I have it in at ford 3 or 4 times and they don't have a clue whats making this sound. Anyone ever heard of this before?

Sounds like the rear end is going bad. Have a shop chek it out for you!

Rear end has been checked, I think the sound is comming from the front end, noise goes away if I shift gears.

I'm scratching my head on this one. Possible fan clutch worn out?

Then I agree with "low" that the fan may be making the noise.
