Transmission core charge?

Hello everyone,
I am wanting to do the FMX to C4 swap, and i will probably by the TCI Streetfighter C4 for my ranchero. So could i bring the FMX and torque convertor to a tranny shop or something and have them buy it for me or give me some kind of credit (like a core charge or something)? I don't know what to do with it. And i can't keep it around the garage, everything has to be out when i go to college in the fall.
Also, to do this swap, i need a shorter slip yoke and a bellhousing being that TCI's C4 doesnt come with one. Would i just go to a tranny shop again and get those there? And how will i know how long of a slip yoke i will need? Thanks everyone!
Danny
