Ford Ranger Axle Codes
Does anyone out there have the Axle Codes for the Ford Ranger?
Mine is a '99 XLT 4x4 with 16" wheels. Think the Axle code is "97". Axle Codes for all Rangers (and all Ford Trucks) would be a great help. My son has a 1987 XLT Ranger. Need that one, too.

Ford Ranger Axle Codes
You need to recheck your axle code. The Ford service manual lists the following axle codes for 1999 models:
Axle Codes
The following lists the gear ratios on axles.
KA — No ratio, Electric
84 — 3.45, non-limited slip
86 — 3.73, non-limited slip
87 — 4.10, non-limited slip
89 — 4.56, non-limited slip
F6 — 3.73, limited slip
F7 — 4.10, limited slip
95 — 3.55, non-limited slip
R5 — 3.55, limited slip
96 — 3.73, non-limited slip
R6 — 3.73, limited slip
