Question Air valve

Hi,

can anyone tell me what the air valve besides the fuel filter is for?
My engine is well "air bleeded", but every time when I push the valve some air comes out.
I can't see a sense for this valve.

Thank you very much

Jens

If you are refering to the Schrader valve (tire valve) that is to do exactly what you did relieve air from the filter. When you run dry or change filter without filling with clean diesel first, that valve will drain air pressure from the filter when the engine is cranked over** and core is pushed. **manual lift pump.

You can also do a pressure test of the lift pump 4-6 psi and quantity test 1/3 pint in 10seconds of cranking when the valve core is removed. Disconnect the IP FSS when doing the tests, we do not want a startup at this time.

EDIT If you are getting air there everytime you press it then air is getting in some how, possibly when shut down.
