I think Mine bounces around at 800ish at idle. For "drive," Can't help you there. I have a 5spd.

YES! My engine roars at cold start up. I can put in first, shift it to second and coast up to 15-20 mph without touching the gas. No wonder it gets 17mpg.

I just put a mac intake on my truck. And I noticed on colder mornings, there is this tremendously huge "air sucking" sound coming from the filter after I start it up.

I figured it was the fast idle right off the bat. But it's amazing the sound the mac intake makes when more air is being pulled through the engine.

at startup the computers sensors recognize the engine is cold and goes into closed loop "choked" until warm then switches to open loop when warmed up.
