I am far from being a mechanic, don't know wheither to be worried or not...
I have a 96 ranger, 4.0L 5 speed, 4x4, when i push the clutch in, about half way, i get a squeak, louder when i push the clutch in slow, not much of one when i push it in faster.. is this something rubbing, something that just needs oiled, or a sign of something going wrong?
Sounds like the point where your pedel hinges needs a little oil. I doubt that it is your clutch. Put your head by your pedel and push on the clutch pedel. That's what I would suspect.
My '97 (2.3L)did that, it was the slave cylinder for the hydraulic clutch. Ford dealer replaced under warranty ($150 was charged to Ford)......my '95 is now doing the same thing, this time I have no warranty
I just got it (my 5th ranger.. ) so luckily I do have a 30 day, 1500 mile warranty on it, bumper to bumper.. will have them look at it next week
just wanted to know what to expect.. have them look for
