MY first car, a 1979 Old 98 Regency 2 door, 350 rocket, 400 turbo trans, dad blew it up 2 weeks before I got my license. Second car (stole from dad after he blew mine up.) was a 1982 E350 exteneded club wagon, 351w, C6, 4:10 rear. That thing was blast, I could clear the roads better than the county plows.
Mine was a 1958 Chevy pickup 1/2 ton stepside that I bought in 1985 for $200. It had a 235 six cylinder with a 1953 factory Corvette split manifold. Boy was that one loud truck, never could sneak home with it. Still have it scattered around the farm.

1994 ford ranger here, lol, only 18, had a chance for the 72 monte or a 70's model stang fastback, can't remember the year, been 2 years since i went looking. Parents didn't want me to have a muscle car, or older car, dunno why, got the ranger, and we've been through a lot together, still got her, just paid her off, lol, but yeah, nothing near the great old cars
78 Mustang 2. Originally came with a 4cyl. My dad and I spent a whole winter (heated garage) putting in a 302.. About 2 weeks after we got it running I decided to race it and had a misunderstanding with a gaurd rail and I lost
Came time to buy my first car and I'd found a really nice '48 Ford 2 dr roundback sedan ... Dad says, "You don't want that." Yes I did.
Found a '40 Ford coupe! Dad says, "You don't want that." Yes I did.
Found a '55 Dodge 2 dr HT , Dad says, "You really don't want that." Yes I did (at the time).
One Saturday morning he says, "C'mon we're going to go look at a car for you." We drove out into the country to this farm, out to a quanset building out in the back, and back in the shadows there sits this '50 Chevy Fleetline 2dr sedan, stick six and kind of a gray-green color.
Says I, "I don't want that." "Yes you do." he replied, gave the owner $50 and we drove it home.
Turned out to be a great first car, we called it "The Stingray" because the "fastback" design looked like the new '63 Corvette coupe. Had a lot of fun with that car!!
My Dad gave me a '68 Cougar that needed a lot of work... Needless to say we worked our tails off restoring. It came out to nice to drive in bad weather so I bought a '90 Ranger 4x2. I still have the Cougar and wish I had the Ranger still...
I bought a 51 ford 2 door sedan when I was 15.
I was under it more than I was in it.
Paid $100 down and $5. a week for a year on that thing.
Soon as I got it paid off I bought a 57 Ford Fairlane with a 312.
