Cause to celebrate, drove home my first brand new pickup in a long time today and I'm psyched! F-150 STX RC/SB with the 4.2. Had origianally planned to wait for the 5-speed but my tax advisor said I needed to get the machine on the road this year for the business tax deduction, so its here. I think I'll get use to this truck in a hurry. Compared to the '93 XLT I was driving the '05 is a lot roomier, quieter and handles much bettter. I don't know about pulling ability but I seldom pull anything, and if I did I don't know if I would have gone with the 4.2. I hate to admit it but its the first of the new body style I've even been in let alone driven, so there was definately a wow factor at work here. I only hope it continues to impress over the long haul.
Congrats on your purchase. Time to start the mods. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
LOL! You are not joking. I've always owned used truck/cars before this purchase and did very small inexpensive mods (mostly stereo related). But when you buy this great truck it cries out for mods. You get "addicted" to giving it the "perfect" look. I suspect I have several thousand dollars left to spend on this beasty before it begins to "pay off". And I mean pay off financial wise. It already pays off in luxury and utility.
I know what you mean. I couldn't go one week without a mod, so what do I do? I order these (overnight). Theres another $100. What do you think? Too much?

Those are pretty slick, but I'd probably save that until I was out of other mods that either netted HP or juiced the radio! Next up for me is an intake and then leveling kit.
I ordered them from ltbmotorsports. THere is a couple other places on line to get them and there are several other models. There are a universal type but should go on fairly easily. These are not your "Pep Boys cheapies" either. The brake should be pretty easy but I think I may need to modify the OEM gas pedal slightly. I will be installing them shortly. I'll post a new thread with pics.
