86 ranger won't start
hey everybody what's up? this is my frist time writing to the forum. i'll get to the point. i have 86 ranger,that at frist started running like it wasn't getting enough fuel. i parked it for 3weeks, now it won't start,both fuel pumps work,pressure at the schrader valve is 38psi. if i spray gas into the throttlebody it will fire. need help please!!!

I ain't fooled with the Rangers much nor with their injection systems, but from what you have described, you may have a restriction in the fuel line. The pressure sounds about right but volume might be the problem. Look for kinks in the lines from the engine to the tank. Service the fuel filter and shake the fuel out of the one that is on there now and see if you get a bunch of junk out of it. With a new filter, hopefully it will increase the volume that the throttle body is receiving. If you get a lot of crap out of the filter, you may want to clean the throttle body if it runs but still acts bad after the new filter.
