Just had my computer fixed with xp. Heres the problem. As I scroll down on pages via internet or my docs or whatever I get this dizzying cascading rolling, jumping effect that makes it hard to follow. I had this same problem a year back when I had xp installed the 1st time. I don`t remember where the settings are, PLEASE help
Sounds like an older system(1gig or less cpu, possibly under a gig of ram, ddr is better for XP than SD ram is)
Right click on My computer, select properties, click on the advanced tab, choose best performance settings.
From there, click the next advanced tab(top of secondary box) and click the change button. Set the intitial size and max size to roughly 2/3 of your installed ram(initial would be roughly that, set max to the same, or go with recommended in both, which is likely more correct than initial settings) You'll find the pc performs better.
I'm running an AMD Athlon XP+ 2600 overclocked to 3200XP+ specs, 1024 mb ddr-333, an Epox EP-8RDA3+ motherboard, 2 40 gig hd's, Audigy 2 sound card, etc, and while not the top dog by any means, this thing kicks pretty good for any games I can throw at it. I run in best performance mode because I like the classic look of Windows, without the bloat that comes with XP. The funky colors look nice, but they slow you down in the long run. Get rid of them and run in best performance mode.
Well it could also be as simple as not having the right video card drivers installed. If the wrong ones are installed it will not be able to refresh the display correctly and kind of stutter.
