No and wouldn't want too. If you do it that way you have to have a lift that can raise the body up off the engine. You have to take loose the brake system, Air Cond. hoses, & some of the front end.
I didn't feel after rebuilding and replacing the engine I wanted to also have to realign the front end, Bleed the brakes and recharge the Air Cond system.

I have removed engines this was a few times, but never in my Aerostar. You do not have to open up the brake system, just remove the calipers from the steering knuckles and hang them up in the wheel wells.
You will have to open the A/C, though. And I agree that you need a GOOD lift.
Good luck if you decide to try it.
Cheers,
Eric

Engines In!
Thanks Guys! Engines in and out complete... I definately spent allot more than 8 hours on each van. 1 was definately harder than the other. The link that was provided was a great help. Does anybody know where all the ground wires attach. When I try to start it the starter runs on and stays ingauged? It seems like these dogs are ground sensitive. I tried 2 starters and 2 starter relays. Thanks again!
