I have a leaking sensor at the end of my master clyinder. I believe in controls the cruise control. Turns it off when the brakes are pressed. Has anyone replaced this? Do you have to bleed the brakes when you are done?
I beleive the part number is F3TZ9F24BB.
Well, I just bought the sensor for $16.00 from the stealer. The parts guy said no need to bleed them. He said this little part always leaks and has cause several vehicle to catch on fire. Then why has ford not recalled this part??
The new part has a new number and a pigtail harness. I will try it without bleeding and see what happens.
I will post the new part number tonight or tomorrow. I replace the sensor last night. 10 min job. You must remove part of the air filter housing to give you some room to put a wrench on it. My cruise control now works and so far no problem with the brakes. I did not bleed the system. I now just have to clean a repaint part of the frame and shock tower. The old leaking brake fuild bubbled up the paint. FORD should fix this!!
So, if your cruise control does not work or you notice your truck is on fire this could be the problem.
