Trailer Brake Controllers

I just picked up a 2015 F250 and would like to eventually add a trailer brake controller to it. Mine does NOT have the factory brake controller in the dash but, wouldn't mind adding if it isn't too difficult.

If it is a huge pain, I will probably go with an aftermarket brake controller.

Has anyone added the factory trailer brake controller to thier newer Superduty?

What brake controllers do you guys use?

From what I can gather, I can add the factory brake controler my self.

I can get it from either the dealership or some where online. But, I will have to have the dealer "activate" it. Basically, tell the computer that it is now there.

I may call up the dealer on lunch today and see what their price is for it.

Here is the factory brake controller on Ebay:

11 thru 15 Super Duty F250 F350 Ford in Dash Trailer Brake Controller Module | eBay

Has anyone on here added their own?

I bought the same on and added it to my 2015 F-350, pops right in after you take out the coin holder and the plug is right there. The dealer does have to tell computer that it is there.

Better to get a factory one as to aftermarket because your tow haul mode works with it then .

Agreed. I added mine after the purchase. Ebay is the cheapest place, new in box. Pull the coin tray and install the controller. Unlike my dealer who fought with me saying it doesn't need activated , yes it does. About $50 at a dealer who knows what they are doing to activate it.
