What about a healthy Steve Mcnair?

Oh wait....I do not think there is such a thing....as a healthy Steve Mcnair...

He is a great QB, just playing injured all the time.

Not to inflame anybody, but duante culpepper is a bum. He is not a winner. Minnesota will go nowhere until they get rid of him. You can't tackle him high, but one hand on his foot, and he's on the turf. Donovan McNabb is just not an accurate thrower, but, I can't argue about his running ability

I will go with Brett, no one means as much to his team and after watching him for 13 years he is still as good as ever. In time peyton barring injury will have most of the records, but there is to much time between now and then and anything can happen.

I think Michael Vick is dangerous. No one else can take off on the ground like him. His passing game might not be as strong as the guys mentioned above, but he's ranked 15th in rushing yards, ahead of guys like Michael Pittman, Marshall Faulk, and Warrick Dunn, to name a few. Big Ben is close for this season, because of his "I ain't afraid of nobody" style play. But he needs more time under his belt to prove he isn't a flash in the pan.

we're talking about quarterbacks...not running backs....the falcons will be so much better with a good throwing quarterback and have vick at rb or wr

I totally agree with you, except for that crazy comment about the Plowboys at the end.

Joe was the best I ever saw, but Brett's the man right now. He makes things happen, and he's not afraid to lay a shot into a guy if needed. Drew Brees is my second favorite QB, but at least he's playing for my favorite team.

GO CHARGERS!

Where do I start? Okay first off the best of all-time hands down would have to be John Elway. No question.

Peyton Manning is the best of his era and will go down as one of the greatest of all-time. Peyton is the ultimate student of the game and is tough as nails. Depsite his calm demeanor you can't knock him out of a game. His numbers are terrific and his cast is amazing but in my humble opinion he makes average players look like superstars. If he had the Patriots or the Steelers defense then the Colts would be a lock for the title. Furthermore if he were playing on a bigger market team such as New York or Philadelphia he would get more credit than he already does. Peyton Manning is the best at the moment and he'll just keep getting better.

Brett Favre is the man though. He's still King of the Quarterbacks. The only reason the Packers have been as good for as long as they have been is because Brett Favre has been as good as long as he has been. Yes he's the last of the gunslingers. He does get sloppy but no one can do what he does not even Peyton. Once again if Favre had a defense that could have stopped that infamous 4th & 26 he would have been in the Superbowl with a subpar team. Favre's legacy cannot be questioned and the fact he gets more repsect in the NFL than any other player speaks volume about his value to the sport.

Culpepper is good but should not be mentioned amongst the league's best. He's a completely different quarterback when he doesn't have Randy Moss in the line up just like McNabb is when Terrell Owens is out. Favre & Manning make the most of what they've got where Moss & Owens make the most of what they've got. Vick is one of the most over-hyped athletes of all-time. Of these three McNabb is the most complete but a far cry from Favre & Manning.

Montana was good but not the best. If Montana had played on any other team other than the 49ers he would be what he is made out to be. He's great no doubt but if he was the driving force behind that team then he should have taken the Chiefs to the Superbowl because they were poised to do so in his 2 years there going for 12-4 & 13-3 respectively. Once all that talent was gone so was Montana's aura. Say what you want to about his age but to prove my point John Elway won 2 Superbowls once he had a team built around him like Montana did in the 80s. If Elway had the talent around him like Montana did he could have won 5 or 6 titles but its all ho-hum because we'll never know.

Tom Brady also deserves a nod too for this generation.

All the current QB's mentioned are some of the best to play. Granted the Johnny U's, Elways,Montana's,Marino's, Starr's,and on and on have been great, but step back and look guys we are living thru one of the best times for QB's ever. Favre throwing 95 yards, how many comebacks for Elway and Montana. Pure strength, Culpepper, McNabe, could play a couple of other positions. These guys all have been great to watch, but having gone threw drug addiction, losing your father, losing your brother-in-law, and a wife that has breast cancer and throwing fastballs for 200+ continueous starts and counting, like him or not Brett Favre is the last word in QB's.

Peyton is a better student of the game, too, I think. If you watch them both on the sidelines, Favre throws on a jacket and wanders around a bunch. Peyton either gets on the horn with his OC or QB coach, or looks over photos of the opponents' defensive setups. Getting a couple of rings would certainly help him solidify his place in history, though.

Personally, I think rings are about the team...we're talking QBs here.

I've seen Brett with QC on the side looking at photos quite a bit
