I listened to Greg's video over and over, enough to notice that Strokster doesn't have a Texas accent yet, and I can't imagine that it is a mechanical issue with the engine. It occurs late in the run, and at an RPM that he had already exceeded twice by the time it happened. If it were mechanical or ignition it wouldn't care what gear he was in, yet the problem seems to be consistent after his 2-3 shift.
I can only think that it is fuel delivery or timing.
Greg, it sure sounds in the video like theres no shift kit in that thing!
Did you ever try just leaving it in Drive an mashing the throttle?
Man, thats no joke. I just listened/watched the video and you could really benefit from some much crisper shifts. Of course, one problem at a time, right
I run a B&M stage II shift kit in my '65 Coronet and it barks the tires between shifts. I always raced leaving it in drive, very consistent, more so than I was manually shifting it.
Granted, for many people it's really irritating to drive it normally because the shifts are hard and snappy no matter how you drive it, but I love it and it's healthier for the tranny not to mention you pickup a little extra time.
What stall are you running in your converter? Didn't sound like you loaded up at the start.... but if you tow with it I would guess you probably just stuck with the stock stall.
The truck sure sounds nice and is quite fast for how heavy it is and for still having bugs to work out.
Yea thats true It would do it in all gears If it were mechanical.....If i was you I would just get a Jet or B&M C-6 with there Base model converter less hassle and you dont have to get your tranny overhauled..Ialways run brandnew equipment when i do a tranny new lines cooler and all because i dont like to have my system contaminated with old clutch matter. I ran the b&m and a 2200-2400 stall in my stang and it was great. Just dont know what the tow capacity is on it.

Ya Ego, Thats what I'am having being built right now, is a Rollerized C6,Kevlar Band, and the red clutch Packs, with 6 clutches, and I
ll be running the ATI 3500 stall in the 88 Stang!! YeaHaaaaww!!!
My friends are running 427 Fe's with C4 in T-bolts and running low 10's. Pretty stout pieces. Even a couple galaxies with them too. They seem to have them figured out now. Much less power to run then a C6, and they have brakes for them too.
Yea Russ...., I would Kank the C6 and go with a c4 thats what goes in the mustang world. You can shave valuable tenths of your ET's by switching from a c6 to a c4 because of the front drum speed and lighter rotating mass. One of the first things i learned in mustangs. I know you can have a custom built c6 made with lighter internals but who's gonna pay for that.....comparedto off the shelf ready c4's especially for a 302 I think $700 and your bolted in there with a c4. just like a 350 turbo compared to a 400 turbo Its bigger so it can handle more power but you would have to be pushing MAD HP's to make that c6 worth it IMHO.
Wow two blabbing sessions in one day....lol
Oh I Agree guys about the Rollerized C4 instead of the C6...But see here's the Catch... A Friend of mine Has the C6 and not a C4...and he has the Parts for the C6 and not the C4.... Plus He's bulding it for me for Free as a Christmas Present?? Savy?
And as far as Hp its should be around 725 or so...close guesstimate? and about 685lbs of Tq..in a 3200 car !! and of course thats with full street interior!!
Well........Belay my last.....LOL You should be alright pushing 700 ponies I wouldnt sweat the small stuff. Infact Im not sure ...i know you can build a c4 to go through hell but 700 hp 700 ftpounds....I dont know anyone who has tried.
I wish my 'puter at work would run the video. Seems it doesn't like it and cancels it out . Home system is dial up snail . Not good for streaming vids.
BTW Russ, you should have just bought my buddies 'stang. Already done and still "street" legal (ya, right...) 600ci A head '81 stang. He bought car new(4cyl) and slowly converted. Back halfed, funnycar cage, basically stock interior still(kinda BIG hoodscoop though ). Went 8.60's at 166 mph
Russ check you PM.

I can email any interested parties the video. It is about 5mb. It is a quicktime file (.mov) So, make sure you have the quicktime player. Free at quicktime.com
I want to get a video of teh gauges. I now have the A/F setup. If I could get a run with the camera looking at the vacuum, A/F and tach, you guys might be able to find something. Although, it dpesn' seem to stumble on street tires on the local street. I guess I don't have enough pavement or cajones :-)
I can say that vacuum is pretty much zero when my foot is on the floor. With minor bumps at gear shifts.
